The following instuments are contained in the ILab setup. 

HP4145A Parameter Analyser

The HP4145A contains 4 Source/Measure Units (SMU). They can be configured as voltage or current sources. As a voltage source, the unit can measure current and vice versa. The SMUs can source and measure voltages from the microvolt range up to 100 V and currents from the picoamper range up to 100 mA. 

HP4275 Inductance, Capacitance, Resistance (LCR) meter

The HP4275 LCR meter is used for measuring the impedance, in the frequency range 20 Hz to 1 MHz, of a two-terminal device for different voltage bias points. DC votage bias with a small AC voltage (on the order of 10mV) is put over the device. The amplitude and phase of the signal can be read directly but the instrument can calculate parameters according to some usual circuit models that may be descriptive for the device being measured.  These are R and C in parallel (CPRP) or R and C in series (CSRS) + more. Resistances above 1GOhm, inductances in the nH range and capcitances in the sub pF range can be measured.

Agilent E5250A Low-Leakage Switch Mainframe

By using an Agilent E5250A switch one can choose whether the SMU or the LCR meter is to be physically connected to one diode selected out of five available diodes. Read more about the E5250A here.

The Agilent E5250A switch is equipped with a 10 x 12 Matrix Switch card that can be programmed to connect any of the 10 input connectors to any of the 12 output connectors. Low-level measurements required for a full diode dc characterization requires that the switch offer a very high signal-to-ground isolation resistance. The low-leakage ports of the switch card have a very high isolation resistance of about 1E13 ohm thus enabling accurate low-level measurements. The LCR meter is connected to the CV input port on the switch unit.

HP3314 Programmable Function Generator

The HP3314 is a programmable function generator that can generate sinusoidal, triangular or square wave. The frequency range is from sub Hertz to above a MegaHertz.
